More about Women’s Information Centre Newsletter

Adapted from the Women’s Information Centre Newsletter (November 1974)

In the summer of 1974, the Women’s Place Collective split into two groups. One group planned to set up a women’s cultural centre, while the Women’s Information Centre decided to continue with the “business aspects” of Women’s Place. These included phone referrals, the speakers bureau, the legal clinic, consciousness-raising groups, and a newsletter. This group moved to a new location on Spadina Avenue in Toronto.

The newsletter included many announcements about meetings, services, and issues reflecting the wide range of feminist organizing in Toronto at this time.
