Tiger Lily: A Journal by Women of Colour was published from 1986 to the mid-1990s. Tiger Lily described itself as “women of colour coming together as a creative, financial and social force to publish a magazine that accurately reflects the way we see ourselves and our position in the contemporary world”. Writers were drawn from Canada, the Black diaspora, Latin America, Native North America, and South and East Asia.
Tiger Lily was a magazine which opened the opportunity to racialized, immigrant, and refugee women to have a literary space to share experiences and talents. In the kindest and most inspired manner, authors were supported in their efforts to publish.
