Therapy Means Change, Not Adjustment

This undated poster was created by artist Judy Greenburg for the Roughtimes-Radical therapist initiative, located out of Sommerville, Massachusetts. The poster is pink with bolded angelic artwork, with red text reading “Therapy Means Change Not Adjustment”. The phrase refers to the slogan of the early 1970s Radical Therapist movement and the journal that accompanied it. it proposes that psychotherapy should aim for fundamental psychological and societal transformation, rather than just helping individuals adapt or “adjust” to the prevailing social, economic, or political status quo.
