Issues & Campaigns (1990): We’re Worth More – Government Funding and the Women’s Movement

This 1990 pamphlet by the National Action Committee on the Status of Women (NAC) describes the devastating cuts of $1.6 million to the Women’s budget, including 100% cuts to the funding of women’s centres. Of this, approximately $1.4 million has been cut from women’s centres – one quarter of these cuts were in Quebec, where 40 centres lost funding. The pamphlet goes on to describe the inadequacies of government action on women’s issues and recommends a course of action to lobby the federal government.

This pamphlet precedes a document produced by NAC in 1991.
