This redesign has been in the works for some time, and we’re still smoothing out a few elements – but we couldn’t wait any longer to share the new format with you. We’d love to hear your reactions.

Check out the video below for a brief walkthrough, and stay tuned on social media for information about updated features, as well as snapshots of new archival materials on women of colour feminism, LGBTQ+ activism, feminist art, and much more.

Thank you to our amazing web designer, Tara Cleveland, for her expertise, creativity, and commitment to transforming our website. And heartfelt thanks to our tireless Rise Up volunteers for the hundreds of hours they have donated to turning this redesigned website into a reality, and for their dedication to making Canada’s feminist history widely accessible. Our summer staff and fall intern, employed through youth employment grants from Young Canada Works in Heritage and Canada Summer Jobs, also played key roles in ensuring this transition was possible.

Rise Up continues to be a labour of love for our many volunteers – past and present –  who contribute their time and skills to its development. However, our group does have costs that we need to cover and our progress in building the archive could be made faster with additional financial resources. If you would like to make a donation to further our work, please click the button below. If you have archival materials you would like to contribute to the Rise Up! archive, please get in touch at info@riseupfeministarchive.ca

Thank you for your ongoing support in celebrating and preserving Canada’s feminist history!
