We’ve uploaded a wide range of new buttons and posters that chronicle events and campaigns from the women’s movement. They include (among many others):
- A button reading “Justice for Albert Johnson” from protests following Johnson’s murder by police (1979)
- A button promoting the Company of Sirens, a social action, feminist theatre company in Toronto (1986)
- A 1972 poster for a Toronto event addressing the role of women in the resistance movement in Spain (pictured left)
We’ve just added new materials on childcare on our pages for both the Child Care Advocacy Association of Canada and the Ontario Coalition for Better Childcare. There are new newsletters, reports, conference programs, and more!
(The Child Care Advocacy Association of Canada’s pamphlet on “Building a Consensus” is pictured left).
A new page for The Women’s Place in Toronto, and its newsletter (The Women’s Place Newsletter). The Women’s Place was a hub of feminist activity in Toronto, and was also the first home of the Toronto Women’s Bookstore.
Materials include the proposal for The Women’s Place’s expansion in 1974, policy statements, flyers, and other resources. The flyer (pictured left) provides a short overview of the origins and goals of The Women’s Place.
